The TopHat® Protector Ring is a stainless steel sleeve that is fitted onto the front or rear part of the carbon shaft. It protects the shaft from splitting or breaking when hitting hard targets or on errant shots. The ring is fitted before installing the point or nock, thereby extending the life of the arrow.
