The Easton 5MM Steel X HIT™ Break-Off Inserts provide archers with maximum flexibility when tuning their arrow setup. With their robust steel body and practical break-off design, weight can be precisely adjusted to optimize balance, F.O.C. and flight behavior of the arrow. Developed for Easton's 5 mm HIT system arrows, these inserts provide stable tip retention and precise performance in the target. The Easton 5MM Steel X HIT™ Break-Off Inserts are high-quality steel arrow inserts specifically designed for Easton's 5 mm HIT system (Hidden Insert Technology). Unlike traditional inserts, HIT inserts are completely seated within the arrow shaft, which allows for particularly clean tip alignment.
Thanks to the break-off system, weight can be flexibly adjusted: By removing a segment, the insert weight can be reduced from 75 grains to 50 grains. This adjustment allows you to precisely tune the front-of-center weight (FOC) and thus the flight behavior of the arrow to your personal requirements.
The inserts are equipped with a standard 8-32 thread and thus fit most field tips and broadheads. They were specifically designed for Easton arrows with a 5 mm diameter, including models such as AXIS or FMJ.

Note Front-of-Center weight (FOC) describes how heavily the center of gravity of an arrow is positioned in the front area. A higher FOC can improve flight stability, while a lower FOC often allows higher velocity. With break-off inserts like the Steel X HIT™ Inserts, you can precisely adjust this ratio without having to buy new inserts. Many archers combine these inserts with HIT Collars to better protect the front area of the arrow on impact and increase durability.
