Indoor arrows like the Easton X23 deliberately have a larger diameter than outdoor arrows. This allows an arrow that touches the line between two scoring rings to be counted as a higher score.
At the same time, aluminum target arrows offer a very uniform structure, which makes them particularly well suited for precise indoor setups.
For outdoor distances, slimmer carbon or hybrid arrows are usually used as they are less susceptible to wind drift.
