Note Manau rattan is a natural, living material: colour, grain and density can vary from piece to piece. Before final use, the blank should be dried for a sufficiently longtime, correctly aligned and worked further with suitable sanding and surface treatments to achieve an even bow shape. It is also advisable to check thefibre direction in order to prevent later strength problems when drawing.
