Note For optimal care, the bowstring should be cleaned regularly and then treated thinly with bowstring wax. The wax is applied evenly and then rubbed into the string fibres with the fingers until it has been completely absorbed by the frictional heat. Areas with centre serving or serving should only be treated if necessary, as no additional wax is usually required there.
