Rules – Tic Tac Toe (Maple Leaf)

1. Objective
Hit three fields in a row – horizontally, vertically or diagonally – before your opponent does.
Played with bow and arrow on a Tic Tac Toe target face with 9 fields.

2. Setup

• Two players compete against each other.

• One plays as X, the other as O.

• Each player uses their own arrows (e.g. different colour fletching or marked).

3. Gameplay

• Players alternate shooting one arrow at a time.

• When an arrow hits a field, that field is claimed by the respective player.

• Claimed fields may not be shot again.

• The aim is to hit three of your own symbols in a row.

4. Special rules

• Arrows landing outside the 9 fields do not count.

• In case of a draw (no player achieves a line of three), a new round can be started.

5. Winner
The player who first completes a full line of three hits wins the round.

Tic Tac Toe:
Score the game like any other: three hits in a row – diagonal, horizontal or vertical – wins the game.
If the archers are at different skill levels, the better archer should use a smaller target to score a hit.

FITA: According to FITA, the central spot with 2 cm diameter corresponds to an inner 10-ring.
The next rings with 4 cm, 8 cm and 12 cm diameter correspond to the 10-, 9- and 8-ring.

NFAA: According to NFAA, the central spot with 2 cm corresponds to the X.
The next two rings with 4 cm and 8 cm represent the two white rings, and the outer ring with 12 cm corresponds to half of the first yellow ring.
